The Connection Between Me, Rat, Bat, and Hummingbird

For weeks I swept droppings from my bedroom balcony. Every morning the same mess.
I tried vinegar, bleach, home remedies. Nothing worked. Finally called pest control for rats. Six weeks later—still droppings.
The second technician looked and said, "These aren't rat droppings. They're bat droppings. Put a bright light out there, add bird spikes on each side of the roof. By tomorrow, they’ll be gone."
I did exactly what he said. Like magic—They were gone!
Last night I experimented by not turning on the balcony light. This morning—I found a dead hummingbird on my balcony.
The teaching came after what seemed like eternally contemplating the connection between me, the rats, the bats, and the hummingbird.
My aggressive approach came from assumption, not clarity. I spent weeks fighting the wrong problem, until I remembered “The Animal Codex” a living library from The Dream Arc created by Rosy Aronson and Richard Rudd.
From Bat I learned to pause. Get clear before acting. Don't let stress drive assumptions—seek what's actually happening.
Rat reminded me to be deliberate, Some things persist even when they are misunderstood. What keeps showing up deserves accurate attention.
Dead Hummingbird showed me how acting from unclear information can kill what may have wanted to live.
I didn't need to suffer with droppings for weeks. I also didn't need to jump to conclusions about rats.
My synthesis is to honor genuine stress, but get clear before acting.
No assumptions. No hiding what I'm experiencing. Clarity first, then authentic action.
It will be good for me to cultivate a deeper level of patience and allow myself to feel super impatient or chaotically confused. I believe that when I am there, present that is, it really feels like there is always more to be revealed.
